The pressure to start a career hurts a lot of things (Note: I'm there now). I'd love to intern or work for a nonprofit and do something that really matters but jobs like that don't pay the rent or college loan bills. Of course, I'm glad I'm privileged enough to have finished school (and a nice one that required taking loans to finish) but I wish I could put what I was learning into action instead of looking into desk jobs in the white collar world.
As Eleanor Roosevelt put it, "Remember no one can make you feel inferior without your consent." That holds true with exterior pressures as well. No one can pressure you unless you let them. If you need to get a job that just pays the bills so you can work on that self-discovery, do it. If you can work towards your career at the same time, do that. The most important thing to remember is that no one can live your life for you.
