Reclaiming words is stripping them of their damaging power. An insult is not insulting when the receiver smiles, nodds, and says thank you. So taking away the negative power associated with derogatory words for females is one feminist thing to do. However, for the second half of your question - that opens up a whole different area surrounding power. I recommend reading Michel Foucault for additional thoughts on understanding power and how it plays into women's roles in our patriarchal society.
